About Melora

Melora is a photo and video collection service for weddings and celebrations. Guests scan a printed QR code, upload from the phone browser they already have, and everything lands in one gallery the host controls.

Why it exists

A wedding is photographed by one person from one position, and by a hundred people from everywhere else. The photographer's set arrives weeks later and is beautiful. The other set never arrives at all: it stays scattered across guests' camera rolls, in three group chats, at the resolution the chat app decided to compress it to. Melora exists to collect the second set while it is still on the phone that shot it.

That constrains the design more than it sounds. Anything a guest has to install, sign up for, or remember a password to will not be used at a party. So there is no app, no account and no password for a guest. There is a QR code on the table, a camera, and a browser.

Who makes it

Melora is built and run by Version2 (version2.hr), an independent web development studio in Croatia. It is a small operation rather than a venture-funded platform, which is a deliberate position and not an apology for one: it is why the product is sold for a single payment instead of a subscription, why support is answered by the person who wrote the code, and why the roadmap is driven by what customers ask for rather than by a growth target.

The service is offered in English and Croatian. Both are written, not machine-translated, and neither is a subset of the other.

How it is built

  • Galleries are private. A gallery is reachable only by its event code and is never indexed by a search engine.
  • The host moderates. Photographs can be approved before anyone sees them, or appear straight away, and anything can be removed at any time.
  • Everything comes back at full resolution. The whole gallery downloads as a single archive, originals included.
  • Servers, storage and backups are in the EU (Germany).
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. Melora never sees or stores a card number.

What it deliberately does not do

  • There is no native mobile app, and there is not going to be one. Guests use the browser.
  • There is no subscription. One event, one payment.
  • There is no watermark on any tier, including the free demo.
  • Melora does not photograph your wedding. It collects what your guests shoot.
  • Guest photographs are never used for advertising and are never sold or shared with third parties.
