Terms of Service

Last updated: 25 August 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using Melora ("the Service") you agree to what is written here. If you do not, please do not use it. We have tried to keep this readable: it is a photo gallery for a party, not a mortgage.

2. Who you are dealing with

Melora is built and run from Croatia by one independent developer. There is no registered company behind it yet, so this agreement is with that person rather than with a business, and we would rather say so plainly than name an entity that does not exist. As soon as the business is registered, its full legal and tax details will appear in this section and in our Privacy Policy. Until then, and after, everything reaches a person at [email protected].

3. What the Service does

Melora gives you a private gallery for one event. You create the event, print or share a QR code, and your guests open it in a browser and upload photos, video and voice notes without installing anything or creating an account. You can approve or reject what arrives, and download everything at full quality. Each event is bought once, for a fixed gallery period; there is no subscription.

4. Your account

You need an account to create an event. Your guests do not. You must be at least 16 years old to open one, and you agree to:

  • Give an email address that reaches you, because that is where your event links go
  • Keep your password to yourself
  • Accept responsibility for what happens under your account
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content that is illegal, or that you have no right to share
  • Upload content meant to harass, threaten or humiliate someone
  • Break any law that applies to you or to your guests
  • Infringe anyone else's copyright or other rights
  • Try to reach parts of the system that are not yours, or to break it for other people
  • Use the Service to send spam, or to phish for anyone's details

6. Your guests, and your part in this

The event is yours to run. You decide who gets the code, whether uploads are approved before they appear, and what stays in the gallery. That makes you the one responsible for telling your guests what the gallery is for and what happens to what they send, and for taking down anything you would not want kept. The code and the printed card are what control access, so treat them the way you would treat a key. If we are told that something in a gallery breaks these terms or the law, we can remove it, and we will.

7. Who owns the photos

You and your guests keep ownership of everything uploaded. Nothing changes hands. By uploading, you give us only the permission we need to run the Service: to store the files, make the smaller versions the gallery displays, and show them to the people you gave the code to. That permission lasts as long as we hold the files and ends when the event and its media are removed. We do not sell your photos, we do not train anything on them, and we will never use a customer's photographs to promote Melora without asking first.

8. Paying, and getting your money back

An event is a single payment, taken when you create it. Payment is handled by Stripe on our own page; we never see or hold your card number. As a consumer buying at a distance in the EU you normally have fourteen days to change your mind, but a digital service you have asked us to start immediately is an exception to that, and creating your event is that request. In practice we are more generous than the law requires: if you have not shared the code and no photo has been uploaded, write to us within fourteen days and you get the money back. If the Service fails you, write to us whatever the timing and we will make it right.

9. How long we keep things

Photos and event data are kept for the gallery period included in your plan, counted from the day the event opens. You can view and download everything at any point during that period. When it ends, guests can no longer upload, and the gallery stays available to you so you can still download what was shared. We do not delete your photos automatically. If you want your event and its media removed, write to us and we will remove them.

10. Availability, and keeping your own copy

We work hard to keep Melora up, and hardest on a Saturday evening, but we do not promise that it will never be interrupted. Servers fail, venues have bad wifi and phones run out of battery. Please download your photos rather than treating the gallery as your only copy of them: the download is included in every plan and it takes one click.

11. Limits on what we are liable for

The Service is provided as it is. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here takes away the rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory rules of the country you live in.

12. Which law applies

Croatian law applies to these terms, and the Croatian courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, that does not remove the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country, or your right to bring a claim there. Before any of that, please write to us: almost everything gets solved in an email.

13. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. If a change matters to you, we will say so by email or in the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page always tells you when it was last touched. An event you have already paid for keeps the terms it was bought under.

14. Contact

For anything at all about these terms, write to us at [email protected].
